Social Media Specialist Job Description

We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Social Media Specialist to join our team and help with all social media marketing initiatives across multiple platforms to increase sales, engagement, and customer satisfaction. This individual needs to have a creative drive, innovative writing style, excellent communication skills and strong leadership qualities. We are a family-owned business of over 35 years. This is a full-time position that will be located at the corporate office. Working remotely is not an option.

Social Media Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Developing social media content plans that are consistent with the company’s brand identity
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice
  • Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy
  • Creating consistent, meaningful content on all social media platforms, including capturing stories with video & photography, writing and editing social media posts, improving customer engagement, and promoting social media campaigns
  • Marketing and content that increases the sales of the company and satisfies customers
  • Managing a high volume of daily social media posts on various platforms
  • Communicating with social media followers, including responding to queries in a timely manner
  • Staying up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media
  • Coordinate with Operations and Marketing Departments
  • Drive traffic to all social media platforms
  • This is a new position and will change and modify as management deems necessary
  • Performing other duties when needed

Social Media Specialist Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of social media experience including planning and managing content in a corporate or agency setting is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not required
  • Preferred proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Video editing software and social media
  • Great photography, video and typography skills are a major plus - (please provide any samples you may have)
  • Storytelling skills - (please provide any samples you may have)
  • Strong visual aesthetics
  • Basic knowledge of Graphic Design
  • Community management
  • Manage and oversee social media content
  • Measure the success of every social media campaign
  • Build the brand through a collaboration with Operations, Sales and Marketing
  • Ability to travel to locations, openings and events
  • Highly independent and skilled at managing their own time
  • Willing to adapt, change and stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies

This is a full-time, in-house position. Actual pay will be based on experience and results.
